Featured Artist

I’m fortunate to know many people who have wonderful creative talents. They may not be well known for their art, but they produce beautiful works of art nonetheless. On this page, I’ll feature a different artist every month or so, tell you a little about them, and show you some of their work.

Carol Weaver,

Fibre Artist

Carol and her husband Don are good friends of ours who moved from Texas to Colorado shortly before Leslie and I did.  In addition to being one of my favorite people, Carol is also a very talented artist.  Here’s a little bit about Carol and her art:

Carol has always felt a spiritual connection to nature; and when she and Don relocated to Colorado Springs in 2016, she became enthralled with the beauty of the mountains and the natural environment.  This inspired her to create art that could celebrate her felt connection to nature – fibre art that could capture nature’s vibrant colors and stimulating tactile properties.

She began this journey by crocheting original “yarnscapes” of Colorado nature scenes and then evolved to creating original 3-D yarn art (“yarn sculptures”) integrating nature with the hyperbolic plane mathematical concept.  Aptly, she calls her present focus The Branching Out Series.  She looks forward to her continuing evolutionary journey.

Some of Carol’s works of art are shown below.  You can find more of her work at https://dbweaver.art/carols-work.
