About the Photographer

When I retired from the practice of law after 31 years, it was time to get serious about photography – something in which I had always been interested but never had enough time to pursue.  Now I enjoy developing my technical, artistic and editing skills.  The learning curve will be a lifelong endeavor, which is an aspect of photography that I find appealing.

I spent my legal career working in office buildings in a large city, but I’ve always felt at home in nature.  Now, with a camera in my hand, I get to experience nature while preserving small pieces of it in images that I can enjoy and share with others.  There are certain themes I’ve gravitated toward (For example, I’ve developed a fondness for long exposure nighttime photography.  A landscape illuminated by a full moon has a quality so special that it will draw me outside in the middle of the night time after time.), but mostly I’m enjoying learning and experimenting.  Something I’ve learned:  In many cases, the more inconvenience and discomfort I’m willing to endure, the more rewarding the experience and final result tend to be.  And almost always the camera helps me to see and appreciate things that I otherwise might have paid little attention to.

I’ve enjoyed putting this website together, and I’ll do my best to change up the content and keep it fresh.  I hope you enjoy taking a look.
